Youth Tour/CYCLE Contest
New-Mac Electric’s Sixth Annual Youth Tour/CYCLE Contest is officially underway but with alternative prizes again this year.

Typically, the top two finishers in the contest win an expense-paid educational trip to Washington, D.C., while third- and fourth-place winners are sent to Jefferson City for a similar experience at the state level. This year, due to the pandemic, we will award one-time college scholarships of $2,500 to the top two finishers. As of now, the Jefferson City trip is still scheduled to occur. If it is cancelled, third- and fourth-place winners will each receive a one-time $500 college scholarship.
All it takes to be considered for these prizes is to write a short essay on the topic: How much does the price of electricity matter to you vs. your parents?
The contest is open to high school juniors in the following school districts: Carthage, Diamond, East Newton, Joplin, McDonald County, Neosho, Pierce City, Sarcoxie, Seneca and Wheaton. Home or private school 11th-grade students residing in the aforementioned districts are also eligible. Immediate family members of New-Mac Electric employees or board members are not eligible to participate.
